Kuya Minogue, BA, MSc, MA : I started my first journal when I was five and although I didn't know it for a long time afterwards, I have been a writer ever since. But, of course, growing up in a working class family, it never occured to me that I could feed and shelter myself with writing, so I became an English teacher and an activist for the educationally disadvantaged. I wrote, but for political and educational purposes. Until beginning writing practice, I saw myself primarily as an essayist specializing in educational writing and Buddhist essays.
With writing practice I have been able to break through to award winning poetry, fiction and creative non-fiction.
